When truck dealers sell their pickup truck, generally the tonneau is without cover. And when we put stuffs in the tonneau we would prefer something to cover them and to prevent them from sun and rain. So pickup truck users would have a demand to add a tonneau cover for their automotive, thus a certain panel that is rigid, light weight and affordable would be needed. 

Honeycomb panels are ideal to be used for such application. It is thick but light weighted and strong. We can make it aluminium honeycomb panels with aluminum sheets as skin and aluminium honeycomb core, or use black embossed FRP (fiberglass) sheets as skin depending on customer's requirements. Such sandwich panels generally will be preferred to be colored black. We can also make the aluminium honeycomb core panels in mill finish, and customers can do powder coat to make whatever colors of pickup truck tonneau cover as they like, this would be more flexible to work with.

1. Honeycomb core sandwich panels are light weight so it's easy to handle. This panel can be cut by wood working saw or blades, no matter it's aluminum honeycomb core panel or frp honeycomb core panels. And genearally the pickup truck tonneau cover is designed to be foldable, and with this light weight panel, it would be very easy to open and close the tonneau cover.

2. Customized colors or mill finish aluminium honeycomb panels can be made as per what customers need. Currently black colors looks to be more prevailing for this pickup truck tonneau cover uses.

3. Good impact resistance and chemical resitance. We will need to frequently open and close the tonneau cover, or even lay other stuffs on top of it, so the cover must be good strength and not easy to dent, not easy to corrode. Both aluminum and FRP have properties of not easy to dent.
