What are Stone Honeycomb Panels?

Stone Honeycomb Panel is a new type of composite materials, which has natural thin layer of natural stone or quartz stone glued to a substrate material of honeycomb panel. Generally the substrate can be aluminium honeycomb panel or PP honeycomb panel depending on actual applications.

Natural stone are one of the most traditional decoration materials being used for walls, floors, kitchens etc, and in recent years Quartz stone (artificial stone) is invented to achieve some colors that natural stone doesn’t have and also to make overall stone cost lower. But no matter natural stone or artificial stone slabs are heavy and fragile, with a honeycomb panel (hexagonal structure) as substrate panel the whole structure becomes strong but light weighted, that’s why stone honeycomb panel becoming more and more demanded in the market.

Features of Stone Honeycomb Panels:

1. Nice decorative effects. Stone honeycomb panel keeps same decorative effects as natural stone slabs & quartz stone slabs, with different patterns & nice surface. Surface can be polished same like natural stone.

2. Light weighted. Stone honeycomb panel is much lighter in weight comparing to stone slab for the same thickness because the honeycomb substrate panel is a hollow light weighted material no matter it's PP honeycomb core or aluminium honeycomb core. This makes it easier for workers to carry & install them more easily.

3. Rigid & strong. The honeycomb substrate panel adds much panel strength to the stone layer, making the whole stone honeycomb strong and not easy to break. Unlike the solid stone slab that is fragile.

4. Green product. Stone honeycomb panel is an environmentally product, because it only uses 5mm thick natural stone layer, that means less stone is needed thus less natural resource would be consumed. Meanwhile that means costing saving for customers especially when the stone pattern is an expensive one.

5. Easy installation. Stone honeycomb panel can be prefabricated or cut to size to be used for wall cladding or countertop etc.

Applications of Stone Honeycomb Panels:

1. Architectural applications, such as exterior wall cladding, interior wall cladding, flooring, stairs etc.

2. For kitchen countertop. Cut to size and edge polishing service available.

3. Furniture panels, such as table top. Adding stone skirting on all four edges is available.
